Establishing Strategic Directions
The vision should provide a concise, compelling and shared description of a desired future state.
Imagine an interview is taking place in the future. What would you like the person to say with regard to your organization and its achievements?
In support of the vision, also need to define goals, which are critical end results to be achieved.
Coupled with the vision statement and goals in typically:
- A mission statement that describes the purpose and rationale for the organization including key functions and services
- A set of values that represent fundamental beliefs and principles.
